Campus Fee
The campus fee is charged to all full-time and part-time students on a particular regional campus (Camden, New Brunswick, Newark)
in order to support student enhancement programs, services and facilities which complement and support
the academic experience, such as health services, recreation centers, student centers, student
events and concerts, campus buses, and athletics, among others.
Part-time students are charged a smaller amount
for the campus fee because the fee for P/T students does not include health services coverage and athletic event tickets.
School Fees
The school fee funds supplemental costs unique and particular to the enhancement programs of an undergraduate or graduate school at Rutgers. Included in this category are charges such as the School of Business fee, the "law library fee" at the law schools in Camden and Newark, and the "conservatory fee" at the Mason Gross School in New Brunswick.
Course Fees
The course fee includes course related expenses such as supplies and equipment that are required for the course (excluding books), which is required of all students registered for the course of instruction. Examples of course related fees include chemistry kit fees, theatre tickets for the theatre appreciation courses and lab fees.
Course fees, tuition and fee charges are charged exclusively by and collected exclusively by the Office of Student Accounting and not directly by any other office, department or individual on campus.
Examples of Existing Course Fees:
- Biology Lab Fee
- Biology Manual Fees
- Chemistry Kits
- Chemistry Lab Fees
- Physics Lab Fee
- Theatre Tickets
- Various Mason Gross Courses
- Professional Actor Program
SEVIS Administrative Fee
The SEVIS Administration Fee is a fee charged by Rutgers University to offset the high ongoing cost of institutional compliance with SEVIS regulations. This fee is entirely separate from the DHS SEVIS Fee. The fee has been in effect since August 1, 2003, when VP Karen Kavanagh explained the necessity of establishing the fee. This is explained in more detail at: http://adminaffairs.rutgers.edu/sevisfee.shtml. This $100 fee will be automatically charged to all F-1/J-1 registered students' term bills every fall and spring semester. (NOTE: Initially, Rutgers University TA's/GA's/Fellow's will see the fee on their term bills; although exempt from paying the fee, they must identify themselves as a TA, GA or Fellow at the time they submit the RT-100 to Student Financial Services for a term bill credit for the fee. Students who do not specifically request a credit of the fee when submitting their RT-100 to Student Financial Services and who are therefore billed for and pay the SAF will be refunded this fee ONLY in the same semester as the erroneous billing. An SAF payment will not be refunded retroactively for a previous academic year. ) F-2 and J-2 dependents pay the one-time-only SAF of $50 for a spouse and $25 per child. The fee must be paid by the primary F-1/J-1 Visa holder at time of requesting the first Visa document for each dependent.

TARGUM
Founded in 1869, The Daily Targum is the second oldest and among the largest college newspapers in the nation. The Daily Targum is a student-written and student-managed, non-profit incorporated newspaper published by the Targum Publishing Company, with a circulation of 17,000. The newspaper is published Monday through Friday in New Brunswick, N.J., while classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters.
Since the Targum is an independent, student-run, incorporated newspaper, funding for the operation, delivery, production, and printing is necessary because the newspaper does not get money from any other means within the University. They do not request funds from government associations, university groups, departments, etc., in order to keep the editorial content independent from the sway of views and opinions of various groups, and free from content control from various influences.
The Daily Targum is distributed daily at numerous various locations through the New Brunswick university campus, and is also available on line at: www.dailytargum.com.
Any registered student who does not wish to fund The Daily Targum may request a refund of the fee by submitting a request in writing. The request must include all of the following information: Name, Signature, last four digits of the Social Security Number, College, Class, Date of Signing, and Campus P.O. Box. The student may either bring the refund request in person to the Targum Business Office in Suite 431 of the Rutgers Student Center or mail it to The Daily Targum, P.O. Box 5063, New Brunswick, NJ 08901. All Refund requests must be received by the Targum Business Office no later than 4 weeks from the first day of the semester. A refund check of the semester fee will be sent via Campus Mail to the named student at the Campus P.O. Box indicated in the request. Only requests that include all the information listed above will be accepted and processed for a refund. Refunds are personal to the named student and are not transferable or assignable.
