NEW - Important Notice Regarding Financial Holds
University departments and offices will place "holds" on registration, diplomas, and transcripts for students having outstanding financial obligations with the university.

Please be aware that University Policy requires that all students' accounts be in good standing prior to Fall registration. Therefore, you may be unable to register for fall classes if you have an outstanding financial hold on your account.

Students can pay their financial hold and view their account over the web at: https://finservices.rutgers.edu/finhold. Financial holds from the Parking Department must be paid through their website at http://rudots.rutgers.edu to ensure proper removal of the hold.

Click here for additional information regarding the financial holds process.

NEW - New Academic Progress Policy for Financial Aid Students
Students receiving financial aid were called and informed about a new Academic Progress Policy mandated by The Department Of Education. All aid recipients are affected by this new federal mandate. Click here for more information.

Exit Interviews for Federal Loan Recipients Due
If you are a recipient of a Federal Student Loan, and are graduating in May 2012 (or will be enrolled for less than six credits for the Fall 2012 semester) you are required to complete an on-line Exit Interview before graduation. You are required to complete a separate exit interview for each for the Federal Loans you received. If you do not complete your Exit Interview(s) a hold could be placed on your records.

Students transitioning from an undergraduate to a graduate program are also required to complete an exit interview.

Important Information about Student Health Insurance Program
New Jersey state law requires comprehensive health insurance coverage for all college students who are registered full-time and enrolled in a degree-seeking program.

Students are given a choice of using an existing health insurance plan or enrolling in a University-sponsored student health insurance plan.

Students who have existing insurance will be required to complete an on-line waiver showing proof of insurance each academic year. Students who are new to the University for the Spring semester (or were part-time in the Fall and will be full-time in the Spring) must show proof of health insurance by January 30, 2012.

If students do not provide their policy information through www.firststudent.com, they will be automatically charged an annual premium of $750 ($375 per semester) for the University sponsored health plan. Students must visit www.firststudent.com to enroll and receive their health insurance cards. Click here for instructions detailing how to enroll or waive online.

Click here for answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Rutgers Student Insurance Program.

Students were notified of the Health Insurance pre-enrollment Waiver period though an email sent by our department on July 12, 2011; Click here to review this correspondence.

Please click here for a letter from Gregory S. Blimling, Vice President of Student Affairs, detailing these new changes.

RU Book Advance for New Brunswick & Newark Financial Aid Students
If you are attending the Rutgers New Brunswick/Piscataway or Newark Campus, and will be receiving a refund from your financial aid for more than $500, Rutgers will allow you to use $500 of your financial aid refund to purchase your books from the University's New Brunswick/Piscataway and Newark bookstores during the beginning of each semester.

Your RU Book Advance account of $500 will be automatically set up for you unless your financial aid refund is less than $500, or you elect to decline establishing the account.

(Note: The amount received from Parent PLUS loans are not included in the refund calculation.) For more information and instructions, click here.

Use Electronic Direct Deposit for Faster Student Refunds
Students are able to receive their financial aid refunds more quickly via electronic deposit to a personal checking or savings account.

In addition to reducing the time it takes to receive a refund, our electronic refund system eliminates the possibility of a refund being lost in the mail or stolen, and provides email notification alerting the student that a refund has been processed. Click here for more information about how RU ScholarRefund works. To enroll, log onto your account online with your NetID and password.

Net Price Calculator Available For First-Year Students To Estimate Costs

Returning students and prospective transfer students should use the Cost of Attendance Estimator to estimate tuition, fees and other charges and contact the Rutgers Office of Financial Aid for information on available financial aid.

Click here to access the Net Price Calculator tool. Note: The results are an estimate based on 2011-2012 Rutgers costs and do not represent any guarantee of cost or your actual financial aid package.
