Student Accounts and Term Bills

The Student Account System, an online student account summary, serves as Rutgers' official term bill and includes all tuition, fees, payments, and financial aid credits. We no longer send out paper bills in the mail. At the start of each semester, registered students receive an email notifying them that their term bill is available to view online using the Student Account System. Parents can have access to their student's account through the Authorized User Access (AUA) explained below.

Parents/Guardians Authorized User Access (AUA)

Students have the ability to authorize a third party or parent with access to view and make payments on their behalf through the online term bill portal. This access also serves as a FERPA which is a federal law that gives students in higher education various rights with respect to their education records.

Please note: New Students will not be able to authorize a third party until they receive a term bill.

In order to grant this access, students need to log in to their term bill, and use the "Manage Access" section to provide access to the desired authorized party.

Tuition Protection Plan

We recommend that all of our students and families consider getting the Tuition Protection Plan. It can help families overcome financial losses if your student must withdraw from school after classes begin. Having this plan expands the scope of our current refund policy by offering reimbursement for tuition, housing and other fees due to covered withdrawals.

Tax Information for Education

The university is required by the Internal Revenue Service to provide tax documents to help you prepare your federal taxes and to apply for education tax credits.

RU Book Advance

This account can be used at the Barnes & Noble at Rutgers bookstores located at the Gateway Transit Village in New Brunswick and Bradley Hall in Newark. PLUS loan funds are not eligible for the RU Book Advance program.

Electronic Refunds (Direct Deposit)

Your student is able to have their refund electronically deposited directly to checking or savings accounts.

Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid assists students and families in planning for and meeting expenses associated with attendance at Rutgers by establishing aid eligibility; awarding scholarships, grants, loans, and employment to eligible students; and providing financial aid counseling to students and families for the resolution of problems associated with financing an education.

Office of Student Health Insurance

The Office of Student Health Insurance assists students with Student Health Insurance concerns by acting as a Liaison with Student Accounting, Billing and Cashier Services, Center for Global Services, Rutgers Health Services, University Health Plans and UnitedHealthcare Student Resources. The Office assist students on the New Brunswick, Newark and Camden campuses.
